Warwickshire Open Studios & Community Yarnbombing Events

We will be taking part in Warwickshire Open Studios again this year, exhibiting our community project work under the title of 'Cures & Curiosities'. We are also hosting community yarnbombing, yarnbombing the ‘Lost Garden of Avon’ as part of this on Saturdays 15th & 29th June. The area was once covered in beautiful 19th century gardens and features, sadly now a concrete delivery yard. The artwork aims to highlight this lost heritage and bring the garden colours back to life. The work has been mostly created by the Escape In Stitches Group, Stratford, with thanks to general public forthe kind donations of wool, squares and flowers. We can’t wait to the transformation in the yard!

Youth Cafe

Escape Arts are now hosting a youth cafe, every Thursday and Friday 3:30-5:00pm. Come along and bring your friends, we've got free wifi and big discounts on food and drink. If you're looking for somewhere to finish your work or somewhere to hang out with friends, this is the place for you!

Call the Midwife! Brand New Exhibition!

Come and join us for our very special exhibition launch event!

Escape Arts presents Call the Midwife, a personal and collective insight into Stratford's emerging maternity services, from births, to bouncing babies and beyond! This exhibition celebrates local stories, alongside the town's rich social history.

For our launch event, we are inviting members of the public to bring in copies of their baby photos, especially those born in the Monroe Devis Maternity Hospital, to form Stratford's ultimate baby book! You don't want to miss out on us cutting the symbolic umbilical cord to open the exhibition! Lots of creative activities on the day, come and share your stories!

The exhibition will be up until May. We look forward to welcoming you!

Lifting the Lid on Stratford’s Loos – Exhibition

Permanent exhibition - toilet gallery! Escape Arts invite you to their latest, albeit tongue-in-cheek exhibition located in the loo of the Old Slaughterhouse Heritage & Arts Centre. In this small, but perfectly formed space, you shall be made privy to Stratford-upon-Avon’s history of local latrines, head-line making toilet paper and poignant potty protests. From Stratford’s smallest gem, it’s Victorian gent's loo on Ely Street to toilet sit-ins at the heart of the community there is a lot to discover. You can even cast your eye over vintage sanitary-wear and advertisements whilst you ‘spend a penny’.

Yesterday & Today – Exhibition

Permanent exhibition - stair gallery. A stunning photography exhibition by Phil Williams, comparing pictures up to 150 years ago to pictures today.

Are you Being Served? – Exhibition

Permanent exhibition - upstairs gallery. A fascinating look at Stratford's much loved family run businesses that ran the town when our slaughterhouse was still operational.

Come and explore the vast history of the site, alongside local and global events, with a focus on the Tudor pub.
